last month, a very important person came to visit our operation in Aluminé, the Northern Patagonia Fishing Club (more photos in previous posts, until the website gets updated). it was Patty Reilly, who’s an agent like myself, organizing trips to argentina. she’s been coming down for over 25 years, and was one of the first guides to row any of these waters here. it was an honor to be able to show her our operation.
anyway, she came down with 2 friends of hers, ann and maggie. both were great and a lot of fun and easy going. personally, i got to spend time with patty rock hopping on the Pulmari River, sight fishing to some big rising fish. also, got to spend some time with ann on the river, who is in her mid 70’s, but with such great karma that she was hooking big fish left and right.
here are some images from their trip. photos by patty, ann, maggie, tito and joey (i think).

guys. sorry about the lack of posts. we are near the end of the season, but here are some photos from the Aluminé area. the first is a wonderful brown trout caught by Christopher Woerner. it’s about a 23-24″ fish he caught on a #16 blue dun with guide Mario Melo. the next is a 19″ brown i caught in the little stream that runs through the Estancia Llamuco (our lodge). this little sucker fought like crazy in that little creek, tried to break me off in some roots and around some boulders. these 2 photos were taken by Luciano Oviedo.
Llamuco means ‘pancora’ in the Mapuche Indian tongue. a pancora is a freshwater crab (photos later) that looks like a crayfish with his tail tucked in.
finally, the last photo is of a photo i shot of another crazy evening sunset we had, lenticular clouds hovering over the Catan Lil mountain range in the distance. magic.
